Kite Oasis: Rider Anthony Legare
We talked to Bapu rider Anthony Legare, who has just released his new video "Kite Oasis" filmed in La Ventana, Baja California Sur, in colaboration with Santiago Kiehnle.
About the wind...
"We had one of the best weeks of the year, of the eleven days we were there, there was only one day without wind. The wind is a very gusty and very strong, so doing freestyle tricks is more complicated, practicing in those conditions prepares you to be able to kite anywhere."
We have seen Anthony compete in different disciplines and he never ceases to amaze us, this video is no exception.
About the Trip...
"On the trip I was focused on three disciplines that are freestyle, wingfoil and kitesurf. There were days when the conditions were better for kiting with a surfboard through the waves and others for freestyle when the wind was less strong. Of the maneuvers that I wanted to nail: double heart attack which I achieved, blindjudge 5 and 317. The conditions were very difficult for double passes so I left it for homework for other trips."
At only 21 years old, Legare is focused on improving in different disciplines, collaborating with other athletes, improving his double passes, taking them out more often and landing new ones and above all kiting in different wind conditions to continue improving.
The riders Anthony Legare and Einar Sad have prepared a new kite video that we will soon be able to see, for now Legare tells us that:
"For my next Kite trip my travel essentials are the Surfing for breakfast t shirt and the Tye Dye Bapu and Walkshort Euforia".
